Sculpture/Casting

Great Lakes Art Studio, a full-service sculpture casting facility, offers fine art castings of the highest quality.

From design inception to sculpture installation, our highly trained craftsmen who are skilled in the Lost Wax Ceramic Shell Process, work in partnership with the artist to faithfully reproduce their sculpture and to translate the integrity of their vision. Attention is given to the smallest textural detail as well as to the demands of monumental scale. The result is a true reproduction of the artist's original intention.

We provide the comprehensive resources of our in-house foundry: consultation on structure, mounting, finishing, and installation.

Mold Making

• Precisely crafted rubber and plaster molds in a variety of sizes and combinations.

Casting

• Lost Wax Ceramic Shell. Metals for casting include silicon bronze, bronze alloys, iron, and aluminum.
• Our foundry is open to alternative casting methods such as casting organic materials directly into metal, echoing the delicate textures and surfaces of the original. We also offer "Belly Casting" in plaster as well as bronze for pregnant women.

Wax Work

• A variety of waxes for accurate reproduction of small and large pieces.
  Superb care given in the process of retouching waxes.

Finishing

• Expert care in all phases of chasing, grinding, welding, and polishing carried out on projects of all sizes.

Patinas

• The availability of an extensive selection of patinas in a wide range of applications and colors.
